Flipboard’un büyük ilgi gören dergi oluşturma aracı iOS’un ardından Android işletim sistemli cihazlar için de yayınlandı.
Haber okuma uygulaması Flipboard Mart ayında 2.0 versiyonunuyayına alarak, okuyuculara kendi özel dergilerini oluşturmayı ve bu yayınları çevreleri ile paylaşma olanağı sunmuştu. Dergilerini tasarlayan, özel isim ve kapaklar ile arkadaşlarının beğenisine sunan yeni versiyon yoğun ilgiyle karşılaşırken iki hafta içerisinde 500 bin dergi Flipboard kullanıcıları tarafından oluşturulmuştu.
Bir buçuk aylık sürecin ardından Android kullanıcıları da nihayet yeni Flipboard’larına kavuştular. Android’li akıllı telefon ve tablet sahipleri artık diledikleri içeriklerden derledikleri elektronik dergiler oluşturabilecekler.
Yenilenen Android uygulamasının yanında Flipboard dergi hazırlamak için web tabanlı yeni bir aracı kullanıma açtı. Flipboard Editor isimli araca hesabınız ile bağlanarak tarayıcınız üzerinden dergi hazırlamaya başlayabileceksiniz. Tasarım seçenekleri dışında web aracı dergilerin okunma rakamlarına ait verileri de kullanıcılar ile paylaşacak. Editor aracı tablet veya akıllı telefon versiyonuna göre çok daha gelişmiş özellikleri barındırıyor.
Sadece iOS’ta iki haftada 500 bin dergiye ulaşan Flipboard yenilenen Android versiyonu ile birlikte bu rakamı hızla milyona ulaştıracaktır. Haber okuma uygulamalarının sunduğu deneyimi oldukça farklı bir boyuta taşıyan Flipboard’un şimdilerde eksikliğini hissettiği tek şey bu gücü paraya dönüştürebilmek. Daha önce Apple ile iTunes için ortak bir çalışmaya imza atan şirket dergilerin oluşturduğu muazzam alanı paraya dönüştürmekte sıkıntı çekecek gibi gözükmüyor.
